Around that time of the year I'm always on the look out to catch some daisies in the Burren. It's always hit and miss as the local cattle seems to have a similar interest! I did not catch a great display at this location for a good few years, but did notice the field was left 'vacant' this year on a few previous incursions. With much anticipation, I got in the car that morning to see what I could come up with.
The sun had just risen and the large oxeye daisies were beaming with golden sunlight. Somehow, high clouds were mimicking those waves of a golden white across the landscape. A perfect summer morning.
Focal used: 26mm with an aperture set at f/16.0 for 1/20 sec
Sunrise Over Oxeye Daisies
A Burren Lone Tree Clare Ireland
One of the strongest images in the series, combining spectacular sunrise light, abundant wildflowers and a beautifully positioned lone tree. A luminous celebration of the Burren in early summer.Field notes
