Roaming the lowlands for about 8 years now, you'd think I know it upside down. Yet from Boston and along the new road the vast expanses of rocky grounds, interrupted here and there by a cattle gate or an old wall, the ancient land still has a good few surprises. The light was soft at dusk, the horizon was clear and with low clouds above my head I realised I could be in for something colorful.
Not too keen to be sticking around a familiar but unsightly lone tree, I decided I would break the boundaries and go beyond the walls, into unfamiliar grounds. As the sun rose, the light increased, golden and beautiful. I found this photogenic little shrub and waited for the right moment to capture this timeless Burren landscape.

Available from A4 to A1 and in uncropped photographic formats from 12 × 18in to 24 × 36in. ISO formats may crop the natural 2:3 image ratio at larger sizes; choose an inches size when you prefer the complete composition.
