A Burren Lone Tree Clare Ireland - astro,aurora,january,lone tree,lowland,night,winter
A visit from the auroras taking everyone by surprise! I am dosing on the armchair when a text from a friend brings me back to the Glendale app to check the allegations. It normally takes anything from 48 hours for sun particles to reach our earth, they made the trip in just 24 hours. Very big 'X flare' and very fast solar winds together with clear skies and near to no moon , gave us the strongest aurora since 1989.

Naturally, I was out with renewed energy, Netflix will wait! This was our third severe to extreme geomagnetic storm in 2 years and there was no chance to miss it. This gave us a brief but very intense display of red followed by many green waves dancing in the sky. Wonderful.
