The Milky Way core is visible above the horizon from April to August, for a short window of time. When the moon is new and the clouds are keeping away it's usually a good time for astro photography in the Burren. I left it a little late this year, but then again photography on this side of Ireland leaves it largely to improvisation and last minute decisions! It's always a great experience to be out there alone, watching the sky. A little bit daunting also, I find myself scrutinising the landscape for a pair of scary eyes!
This is somewhere at the back of Mullaghmore, looking out towards Corofin, hence some light pollution which I would have certainly done without as it hid the core! Precisely, what I was trying to photograph.
